Sida launches call for project concepts on mine action in Ukraine

The Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) has launched a call for project concepts to further expand its support for mine action in Ukraine. The Ministry of Economy and Environment of Ukraine and the Center for Humanitarian Demining contributed to the development of the call.
The main objectives of the call are to strengthen Ukrainian non-governmental mine action organisations, with a focus on land release, and to further develop Ukraine’s mine action management system.
The indicative budget is SEK 150 million (over EUR 13.2 million), with projects expected to run from April 2027 to December 2029.
Eligible applicants must:
- be officially registered non-profit organisations governed according to democratic principles;
- hold a valid certificate to conduct demining operations in Ukraine (sub-grantees may include organisations that do not conduct demining);
- have the capacity to operate in several regions of Ukraine.
Applications are open from 30 September to 26 October. Sida intends to select at least one project concept for potential development into a full project proposal.
Sida supports mine action projects in Ukraine in line with Sweden’s Strategy for Reconstruction and Reform Cooperation with Ukraine for 2023–2027 and in support of Ukraine’s National Mine Action Strategy.
