Rights of Victims
The Law of Ukraine "On Mine Action in Ukraine" defines the term "persons affected by explosive hazards" as individuals or groups who have suffered physical and psychological injuries, financial losses, or whose lawful rights and interests have been violated due to the use or presence of explosive hazards, or as family members of individuals who have died as a result of explosive hazards.
- 6.1 million people are currently in high-risk areas.
- 673 individuals have been injured due to mine explosions and other explosive hazards, including 100 children.
- 297 individuals have lost their lives due to mine explosions and other explosive hazards, including 15 children.
- Up to 9,000 accidents could occur by 2030 due to mines and other explosive hazards.
