The State Special Transport Service Received Pyrotechnic Vehicles for Transporting Large-Caliber Explosive Objects, Purchased by the EU
The State Special Transport Service of Ukraine has received two heavy pyrotechnic vehicles, purchased under the European Union's assistance program for Ukraine. The vehicles were manufactured by the Ukrainian company "Validus Special Auto," which specializes in producing specialized transport, including rescue equipment.
"Ukraine is in urgent need of demining equipment, particularly pyrotechnic vehicles that can safely transport discovered munitions for disposal at designated sites, rather than detonating them in the fields. We appreciate the support of our partners, especially their willingness to procure equipment made in Ukraine. This not only contributes to demining efforts but also supports the national economy," stated Ihor Bezkorovainyi, Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine.
The heavy pyrotechnic vehicle will allow sappers to safely transport large-caliber explosive objects weighing over 250 kilograms. Additionally, the vehicle can clear debris, enabling the retrieval of munitions even under challenging conditions. These vehicles are actively used by the State Emergency Service (SES) specialists, particularly in frontline regions.
The European Union has allocated over €48 million to humanitarian demining projects in Ukraine, with €27.5 million earmarked for equipment procurement. By the end of 2025, it is expected that over 20 units of heavy and light equipment will be purchased, including two demining vehicles.
