100% Localization: Ukraine Manufactures Key Component for Croatian DOK-ING Demining Machines
The Ukrainian company "A3tech-Ukraine" now fully manufactures the working component for demining machines produced by the Croatian firm DOK-ING. This achievement has raised the localization level of these machines in Ukraine to over 10%. Most importantly, repairs for such equipment after field detonations now take significantly less time.
"In the spring, the company tested the first demining machine localized in Ukraine. At that time, plans were announced to independently produce the working component for DOK-ING demining machines. By the end of the year, this goal was achieved. As a result, the company managed to quickly restore several MV-4 and MV-10 machines that were damaged in the field. The most severely damaged lightweight MV-4 demining machine was repaired in just 12 days, significantly faster than waiting for specialists and components from Croatia," stated Ihor Bezkharavainyi, Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine.
In 2024, "A3tech-Ukraine," a partner of Croatia's DOK-ING, assembled eight heavy MV-10 demining machines and repaired ten machines that had suffered damage or technical malfunctions. This enabled sappers to gain access to more operational equipment and return to using repaired machines more quickly.
"Manufacturing parts for demining machines in Ukraine significantly reduces their cost. For instance, a hammer for the working shaft is almost twice as cheap as its Croatian counterpart, and each machine requires nearly 50 of these. As a result, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES), which conducted tenders for purchasing spare parts for DOK-ING demining machines, saved 30% compared to directly sourcing from the Croatian manufacturer, amounting to a budget savings of 5 million UAH," said Marat Mints, Director of "A3tech-Ukraine."
In total, private, and government operators in Ukraine now have over 50 DOK-ING demining machines. This autumn, SES received the largest batch yet, with 20 MV-10 machines purchased and handed over to sappers by international partners.
This fall, DOK-ING also opened its representative office in Ukraine, aiming to accelerate demining processes through the exchange of expertise and technologies.
