Participants of the first stage of the «Safe Field» hackathon will test their products in a testing ground environment for autonomous operation duration, ability to mow grass on slopes and flat terrain, grass catcher capacity, area mowed, and more.

The first stage of the hackathon took place at the end of May. At that time, teams presented various vegetation-cutting products, ranging from multipurpose platforms to robotic tractors. The price range of these products is from $5,500 to $19,500 per unit. Some developers have capacity to produce from 30 to 100 mowing machines per month.

Hackathon participants received evaluations and feedback from the jury, which included military personnel directly involved in demining. After the refinement of the prototypes, they will be tested in field conditions. Based on the test results and certification, the machines may be purchased for the needs of demining units by both state structures and private demining operators.
